Past NSNA Board Members Appointed to the FNSNA Board of Trustees (7/29/24)
The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association, Inc. (FNSNA) is pleased to announce the appointments of Bianca Green, BSN, RN and Hershaw Davis, Jr., DNP, MBA, RN to serve as Trustees on the FNSNA Board of Trustees. Both Ms. Green and Dr. Davis previously served on the Board of Directors of the National Student Nurses Association, Inc. (NSNA). "The nursing profession holds boundless opportunities for registered nurses to leave their mark on the world. The appointment of Mrs. Green and Dr. Davis, Jr. to the FNSNA Board of Trustees is a testament to their dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the field of nursing. FNSNA Members Appoint Two New Trustees to the Board of Trustees (7/25/24) The members of the Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association, Inc. (FNSNA) appointed Deborah Lewis, DNP, MSN, PHN, RN and Michael R. Bleich, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, FNAP, FAAN to serve as Trustees on the Board of Trustees for two three-year terms. Trustees Appointed to New Roles on FNSNA Board of Trustees (7/24/24) The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association, Inc. (FNSNA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Shirley Quarles, EdD, RN, FAAN (COL, USAR, RET) to serve in her new role as Vice President, after completing her first term on the Board of Trustees. Additionally, Ms. Barbara Ward, MPA, BSN, has been appointed to serve in her new role as Secretary to complete her first term on the Board of Trustees. Both Dr. Quarles and Ms. Ward will serve in these roles due to Dr. Sandra Gomberg completing her term of service on the Board of Trustees this year. Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association Awards Over $273,000 in Scholarships (4/18/24) The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (FNSNA) FNSNA is delighted to continue the collaboration with Johnson & Johnson in support of achieving health equity through the Our Race to Health Equity Diversity Nursing Scholarships (ORTHE). This year, the ORTHE Diversity Nursing Scholarships support 100 nursing students from racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds. Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association Awards Over $193,000 in Scholarships (4/18/24) The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (FNSNA) awarded 72 scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Scholarship Selection Committee, composed of faculty and students, met in February 2024 to review scholarship applications submitted by over 1,200 applicants. The 2025 online scholarship application will be available in September at www.forevernursing.org for the 2025-2026 academic year. Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association Awards over $11,000 in Scholarships (4/18/24) The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (FNSNA) is pleased to announce that two scholarships were awarded for the 2024-2025 academic year in memory of Andrea E. Higham, a long-time employee of Johnson & Johnson. She was a fierce advocate for nursing, who led the Johnson & Johnson Campaign for Nursing’s Future. In February 2024, the Scholarship Selection Committee composed of faculty and students, met to review scholarship applications submitted by over 1,200 applicants. Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association Awards Over $14,000 in Promise of Nursing Regional Scholarships to Nursing Students (4/18/24) The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (FNSNA) awarded 6 Promise of Nursing (PON) scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year. Thirty-three fundraising events, sponsored by Johnson & Johnson’s Campaign for Nursing’s Future were held from 2002 until 2017. Funds were contributed by hospitals, healthcare agencies, nursing schools and by Johnson & Johnson to support gala nurse recognition receptions. Scholarships for undergraduate nursing students; fellowships for graduate students studying to become nurse educators; and grants distributed to nursing schools were administered by the Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association. Undergraduate scholars were chosen from the Promise of Nursing region of Pennsylvania. |
