Marilyn Bagwell Leadership Development Grant
Established by Dr. Marilyn Bagwell A grant for official NSNA school chapters (minimum of one (1) year) to foster the development of leadership skills in nursing students. A total grant award of up to $2,500 will be given to one official NSNA school chapter that wishes to enhance involvement in NSNA to develop leadership skills among nursing students at the school level. Funds are only provided for special projects that support Special initiatives/activities of an official NSNA chapter (minimum of one (1) year) where leadership principles can be applied and learned and that promote the advancement of NSNA resolutions adopted in the House of Delegates within the last ten years. The inaugural Weingarten Leader of Leaders Award is presented to an outstanding NSNA school chapter faculty advisor who demonstrates distinguished support and service to nursing students. Official NSNA school chapters may nominate their NSNA faculty advisor for this award.

Established by Dr. Deborah Lewis The Rosa & Lemiel Black Memorial Scholarship Endowment was established by Deborah Lewis in honor of her grandparents Rosa & Lemiel Black. Her grandparents were farmers in Arkansas who migrated to Chicago, Illinois for a better life for themselves and their children. Having only completed 3rd and 4th grade respectively, they believed that education was necessary and vital to individual success and committed their lives to educating their children and providing a better life for them and future generations to come.
